Green tea, despite its not necessarily pleasant taste, is extremely popular among Poles and people all over the world. It is considered the „drink of youth”, lowering the level of „bad cholesterol” and supporting weight loss. Many scientists claim that the properties of green tea also include anti-cancer effects.
The stigmata of the saffron flower contain essential oils, which are responsible for the characteristic taste of the spice, but also for its healing properties. These oils are rich in compounds such as cineole, geraniol, linalool, limonene and p-cymene. In the past, saffron was used as a medicine for various types of diseases – including measles, jaundice, heart disease, arthritis or even infant colic. Modern research proves that the most expensive spice in the world has antioxidant effects. In addition, there are premises according to which saffron should be considered an anti-cancer agent. Additionally, the spice is a valuable source of copper, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc and selenium. Flower stigma extract is one of the active ingredients of anticonvulsant and antidepressant preparations.
