Yellow raisins, or dried grapes, are classified as dried fruit and can be eaten raw or used for baking (e.g. cakes). If they are stored for a long time, the sugar crystallizes inside the fruit, making it grainy, but this does not change its usefulness. To decrystallize the sugar in raisins, they can be briefly immersed in a liquid (alcohol, fruit juice, milk or hot water) to dissolve the sugar. Raisins:
